General Foot Care Tips
Wash feet daily including between the toes
Over soaking your feet may cause the skin to dry out
Dry thoroughly including between the toes
Apply moisturizing cream to all areas but not between the toes
If feet sweat try using an anti-fungal talc
Splits between the toes and excessive peeling skin could be fungal – try a broad spectrum anti-fungal skin treatment available from your pharmacy
Use clippers or scissors to trim nails- follow the contour of your toes but do not go beyond the skin folds
Avoid tight fitting hosiery on the lower leg as it can lead to circulation issues
Footwear should be appropriate for every occasion- choose wisely daily
Barefoot is good if your feet do not have an underlying problem- if pain occurs it could be due to injury or poor foot function.
Publicly the use of wet room shoes prevents the spread of verrucae and also stops you picking them up.
